Our Board Members
Our Mission
The mission of Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation is to serve the unmet needs of abused, neglected, and abandoned children who are in the care of the Yavapai County - Prescott Court, and youth who are enrolled in the Department of Child Safety Voluntary Foster Care Program. In addition, we support the work of the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) program and the CASA volunteers.

Founding Member: Barbara Polk
Barbara has been on the Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation. Board since 2003. She currently heads the Enrichment Committee. Mrs. Polk was one of the Board's original founders and served as its first Board President. She has been a CASA volunteer for 20 years. In 1995 Barbara received the National CASA of the Year award. Mrs. Polk's lengthy career as a community volunteer is unparalleled. She was a Foster Care Review Board member for 20 years as well as having served on the original FCRB State Board and was its 3rd State Board Chairman. Barbara served 2 terms on the Appellate Court Commission and has been appointed by 3 Governors to serve on the State's various Children's Commissions. Barbara was one of the founders of the Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation and a co-founder of Yavapai Big Brothers, Big Sisters as well as the Yavapai Community Foundation. She was a co-founder of Prescott Art Docents and taught classes on 11 different art subjects.
